Mr. Ermias Andarge: Roles, Education, and Professional Achievements
Mr. Ermias Andarge
President - Enat Bank
Ermias Andarge is one of the foundational figures who helped shape Enat Bank from the ground up. With nearly three decades of experience in Ethiopia’s banking industry, his journey is a testament to quiet leadership, financial expertise, and long-term vision.
A career banker with 27 years of service, Ermias began his professional path at the Bank of Abyssinia, where he spent 15 years rising through the ranks. His tenure there culminated in his role as Director of Finance and Accounts, a position that cemented his reputation for financial discipline and operational know-how.
In 2012, he made a pivotal shift, joining Enat Bank during its formative project phase. As one of the early members of the establishment team, Ermias helped lay the institutional and financial groundwork for what would become one of Ethiopia’s most progressive banks. Over the years, he served in key leadership roles, including Director of Finance and Vice President of Corporate Services—roles that positioned him at the heart of Enat’s internal growth and operational strength.
On December 31, 2020, the National Bank of Ethiopia approved his appointment as the third President of Enat Bank—a recognition of his deep institutional knowledge, steady leadership, and commitment to the bank’s mission.
Ermias brings a global perspective to local finance. He holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Greenwich in London, along with a B.A. and a diploma in Accounting from Addis Ababa University and its College of Commerce.
A proud father of three, Ermias balances the demands of leadership with a personal commitment to mentorship and inclusive banking. Under his guidance, Enat Bank continues to uphold its founding vision—empowering women, driving financial access, and contributing to Ethiopia’s broader economic development.
